CURRICULA:
Andrew's first curriculum project was the development of Healthy Relationships: A Violence-Prevention Curriculum along with colleagues Peter Davison and Roger Davies. This series of 53 activities is being used in schools and by community groups across North America and in far-flung places including Virgin Islands, Mexico, UK, and Australia.
Andrew enjoyed the synergy of co-developing Growing Up, Growing Older: A Classroom Resource for Promoting Intergenerational Understanding, with Susan Szpakowski. This series of lesson plans for Preschool to Grade 9 is being used in Nova Scotia schools.
In between the above projects Andrew developed the Internet Web Publishing Program for NMD Manufacturing Ltd. of Halifax. This is a fully accredited Certificate courseware program that was taught at New Brunswick Community College-Miramichi.
The Youth in Care Newsletter Project is receiving rave reviews, from the youth and their parents/guardians, from government officials, from educators, and from the media. This is a 16-session program Andrew developed to teach a variety of writing skills to teenagers, and to facilitate the development of emotional literacy, responsibility, teamwork, self-confidence, and the belief they can make a difference.
